BIO

Mr Shilen Patel is a highly skilled Oral and Maxillofacial Consultant surgeon. He is an award-winning Surgeon and is dual qualified obtaining his medical degree from the prestigious St Barthololmew’s and The London School of Medicine, and Dentistry at King’s College London. He completed his higher surgical training at various prestigious hospitals in London and is currently based at the Royal Free NHS Trust.

Mr Patel cares for patients with a wide variety of conditions that effect the head, neck, face, mouth and jaws. Mr Patel sees patients with facial and jaw joint (TMJ) pain and offers specialist treatments such as jaw surgery (orthognathic) and Botox for jaw pain relief.

Mr Patel is experienced in treating facial skin cancer and as part of his NHS practice works in one of the largest skin cancer departments in London. Through this expertise, Mr Patel can offer a range of treatment for skin cancer including Mohs surgery and is continually working as part of the team to improve patient outcomes through innovative new techniques.

Mr Patel looks after patient across all age groups from routine wisdom tooth extractions to operations for salivary gland and neck tumours. As the Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma Lead at The Royal Free NHS Trust, he also treats all types of facial injuries that can have a life changing impact for patients.

Mr Patel’s practice specialises in aesthetic and cosmetic procedures of the face, including eye bag removal (blepharoplasty), rhinoplasty, brow lifts, chin augmentation and implants and facial feminisation. Mr Patel is known for his attention to detail, artistic eye and compassionate bedside manner. His patients appreciate his thorough approach to consultations and commitment to helping them achieve their aesthetic goals.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Patel is actively involved in surgical research and education. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at national and international conferences. Mr Patel is also a member of several professional organisations and is involved in teaching aspiring surgeons, as well as, examining Medical University students.
