BIO

Michael Goldring is a dual fellowship-trained Upper Limb Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon and he is an expert in all aspects of the diagnosis, management and treatment of shoulder and elbow conditions.  He has a particular interest in complex elbow surgery. He completed his specialist training on the renowned Percivall Pott rotation in London and subsequently undertook two sub-speciality fellowships. Mr. Goldring specialises in complex shoulder and elbow keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery as well as primary and revision shoulder and elbow replacement surgery.

In 2024, Michael was appointed as an Upper Limb Trauma & Orthopaedic Consultant at The University Hospitals of Leicester.  Working at one of the busiest trusts in the UK, he serves a diverse population, treating a wide range of conditions in all ages of adults.

In addition to his clinical work, Michael is deeply passionate about education. He has founded and organised numerous courses and scientific meetings and is an active faculty member across the UK, including for the Royal College of Surgeons.

Michael achieved a Masters Degree in Trauma Science from Queen Mary University of London during the early years of his training. He continues to stay at the forefront of the field by regularly reviewing articles for leading medical journals, ensuring his practice is informed by the latest research and techniques.

Before embarking on his medical career, Michael competed at both national and international levels in football and tennis, which gives him a unique insight into sports injuries and the demands of elite competition. His love for sports continues, and he enjoys treating both recreational and elite athletes in his practice.

The forefront of Michael’s treatment philosophy is that of bespoke, patient centred care. He believes in creating a partnership with his patients, discussing all possible treatment options, empowering his patients to make a truly informed decision on their care.
