High Tibeal Osteotomy for Knee Osteoarthritis.

John, 52 years old, had struggled with knee problems for several years which had gradually become intolerable. Some nights he was reduced to tears as the pain was so intense. After seeing his GP and undergoing physiotherapy with no improvement he was referred to Mr Raghbir Khakha as an expert in knee conditions.

Now, I am back in the gym, walking without pain. I will be forever indebted to Mr Khakha, his surgical team and the nursing staff. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Mr Khakha after initial evaluation and imaging planned High Tibial Osteotomy for severe osteoarthritis impacting both knees. John underwent High Tibial Osteotomy first for his left knee and then after a few months for his right knee. Plates were removed subsequently and he was discharged from orthopaedic care after full recovery.

In John’s own words “Post surgery support was there if I needed it from Mr Khakha and his team. I started physiotherapy 2 weeks post surgery. Mr Khakha was there to answer all my questions. I was guided through the series of operations by a team that were kind and very tolerant of my sometimes grumpy nature.

I found pain management easy and the sooner I was up and moving about, the better I felt and the less I relied on the pain killers.

I cannot begin to describe the change in the way I feel since the operations. The ability to walk without the constant dull pain, with the added sharp pain when taking steps, is really quite incredible. When I last saw Mr Khakha he commented on the change in my demeanor. I had actually forgotten – I was a defeated man, quite simply, unable or losing the will to keep battling the situation I was in. Now, I am back in the gym, walking without pain.

I will be forever indebted to Mr Khakha, his surgical team and the nursing staff. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”
