This paper was the first to describe the novel all inside technique for PCL surgery. Professor Wilson was the first surgeon globally to use the all inside procedure which he had pioneered for ACL surgery and employed it for PCL surgery. This technique has become the gold standard globally for PCL surgery and is an innovation Professor Wilson is very proud of as an innovator. Read paper

This paper outlines Professor Wilson’s novel idea for using a Tri graft for PCL surgery. The Trilink technique was then assessed as part of Breck Lord’s PhD with Andrew Amis and showed very favourable characteristics when the biomechanics were assessed robotically. Paediatric physeal sparing posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) reconstruction with parental donation allograft: Rationale and operative approach

This is a really interesting case that Mr Raghbir Khakha and Professor Wilson wrote up together looking at PCL surgery in children. Professor Wilson used many of the techniques he has pioneered taking the Child’s fathers hamstring as a donor graft which was then implanted into the injured child’s knee to make the new PCL. This graft was then quadrupled to make a “graftlnk” and the first paediatric all inside PCL was then carried out. The graft was also “reinforced” with fibretape which is another concept that has had global success as a new technique for ligament surgery. Read paper
