Regenerative treatments

You are here:

Regenerative treatments for orthopaedic problems assist the natural healing process by stimulating the regeneration of cells in the musculoskeletal system. If people are older or injured, the maximum amount of stems cells needed to maintain healthy function is not delivered to the area. Regenerative treatments help the natural repair system to meet these demands.

Treatments include:

A minimally invasive treatment which harnesses natural repair cells removed from the patient’s body fat to target problems affecting tendons, ligaments, joint and muscles including osteoarthritis.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy)

This is also known as Autologous Conditioned Plasma (ACP) therapy. It uses the blood’s natural healing properties to repair damaged cartilage, tendons, ligaments, muscles and bone. It aims to reduce pain, improve joint function and potentially slow or repair damage to the cartilage. It is particularly used for sports injuries.

Shockwave therapy

Shockwave is an acoustic wave which carries high energy to painful spots. The waves trigger biological effects which lead to faster and long-term healing and regeneration of tissue. It is used to treat tendon, joint and muscle conditions and can help with bone healing.

Pain relieving injections

Injections deliver medication directly to the area in the body which is generating the pain. A steroid medication is generally injected as an anti-inflammatory solution to the area causing pain.
